Taevo Publishing is thrilled to announce that on September 25, 2023, we were chosen as one of the winners of the esteemed 2023-2024 Innovative Voices Program by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). This incredible achievement is a testament to our unwavering dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the publishing industry.
The IBPA’s Innovative Voices Program was created to recognize and support independent publishers from marginalized -communities, and we are honored to be among the five distinguished publishers selected for this prestigious program. Through this initiative, Taevo Publishing will receive invaluable guidance, financial support, mentorship, and access to resources that will help us expand our reach and impact.
As a Black-owned, woman-owned traditional publishing house, Taevo Publishing has always been committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and addressing issues that affect writers and creators of color. This program will provide us with the necessary resources and support to further our mission of bringing diverse and inclusive literature to readers worldwide.
Tamara Mayo, the founder and CEO of Taevo Publishing, expressed her gratitude for being chosen for the program. With over 15 years of experience in digital publishing and a passion for promoting the works of underserved BIPOC women writers, Tamara Mayo embodies the spirit of innovation and inclusivity that the Innovative Voices Program seeks to foster.

On Saturday, April 27, Taevo Publishing will take the stage as part of a keynote panel at IBPA’s Publishing University (#PubU2024) in Denver, Colorado, where we will join IBPA’s inaugural group of Innovators to discuss how our publishing programs are serving our respective communities and disrupting the traditional publishing industry. Led by IngramSpark Director, Paige Allen, this session will delve into the challenges we face in building our businesses and the tools we are using to overcome those challenges.
IBPA Publishing University is where hundreds of independent publishers and industry partners gather to exchange knowledge, resources, strategies, solutions, and more. This year’s event promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees, with Taevo taking part in a keynote panel titled “Innovators and Disruption” finishing off the discussions.
