Our Vision of Growth
Like any company that hopes to stick around long enough to make a positive impact on our community, Taevo Publishing has a five, ten, and even 20-year business vision.
When we close our eyes, we immediately envision a publishing, production, and distribution conglomerate that is led by fearless women who overcame past struggles. A conglomerate that has successfully eliminated the common hurdles we as Black creators face while creating a world we have built. A network of “superheroes” that is vast, interconnected, and most importantly, unapologetically supportive of each other’s growth.
This isn’t just about selling books anymore. This is about ownership. It’s about us finally owning the systems that enable us to own our narrative as a community.
2021 – The year of LCC: Learning, Creating, and Connecting
As writers, we know that creating can oftentimes lead to “hermit-like” behavior, especially online. (We’re guilty of it ourselves we admit.)
This year, our focus is on finding our talented Black writers. We know you all are out there. We’ve been sitting quietly in the social media background and found out there are hundreds of us.
We found just as many people who needed writers, yet ironically complained about not coming up empty.
We at Taevo thought, ‘Where and how is this disconnect happening?’
And that’s just the surface we’re scratching.
The point is, this year is about filling our “magical Black Book” with as many contacts as possible. Writers, editors, publishers. agents, graphic designers, illustrators, reviewers, critiquers, influencers… if you’re out there, we’ll be contacting you and trying to find out more about you and your passion. If we haven’t gotten to you, feel free to get to us first!
It won’t be easy, but as a collective, we’ll eventually bring it all together with time.
We’re also focused on our creations. There are a lot of them. From children’s books to book trailers and everything in between that we’ll be posting on YouTube and other suggested platforms, we’re going full throttle with our imaginations this year.
The Five-Year Plan
In 2025, our vision is to have established ourselves as a marketplace influencer via our publishing channels (books, newsletters, and magazines), information services, and strong connections.
Taevo wants to be a company that helps our literary and media community dominate not just on a local level, but on a nationwide and global level.
At Taevo, one of our mottos is, “Impossible is first on our to-do list”.
That was a great motto for the first year when we truly needed the motivation. So much was accomplished in a day, it truly felt like the impossible was being achieved every day. We can put that one in the archives for now, though.
Taevo wants to create non-profits to promote literacy in low-income and inner-city areas.
We want to create movies we’re our published novels… and YOURS. Because now is time to live and believe in our newest motto, the one that symbolizes our transition to the next level:
“An open book can create a rising star.”
When you ask us how, our reply will simply be: “Join us. Bring your talents to the table and we’ll make something beautiful together.”
And to do that, we’ll need to team up with more than just Black-owned production companies. We’ll need to create inter-connected webs of:
Woman-owned professional editing companies.
Women and children voice-over artists.
Talented animators.
Costume designers and make-up people.
Enthusiastic graphic designers for movie posters and other promotional materials.
Hell, even women lawyers and agents that can help negotiate these contracts and represent clients properly.
The 10-Year Plan
Taevo Publishing plans to breed a new generation of rising stars. We’re sure you have the same goals and vision.
And you know what? This mission is so big, it HAS to involve you on every level because it involves all of us.
Our communities, our children, our schools, our finances, our mental and spiritual health, our wisdom, our ability to survive the legal system… all of those factors and more are dependent on us empowering ourselves. Not just through reading and writing, but by owning and controlling what we – and our children – read and write.
We’d be lying if we were to tell you we weren’t a little scared. But fear motivates us in the right direction. We’d fools if we told you that we were going to allow that fear to hold us back.
And Beyond
We ALL should be thinking about where our companies will be in 20 years. No one becomes successful overnight. But that doesn’t mean we can’t use this time to start building towards the part of the marketplace we want to retake ownership of.
Taevo Publishing desires to be a literary marketplace influencer through our creations, connections, and community,
So we ask you: what do you think you can contribute to something this big? Something that goes beyond books, but now touches on our necessity to directly control the images presented to us? Feel free to sound off.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
